Abstract(s)
Dado o actual panorama de envelhecimento da população e a crescente procura de
estruturas de apoio à dependência e qualidade de vida na velhice, este estudo centrase num serviço com grande procura: Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário (SAD), que
consiste em prestar cuidados no domicílio dos utentes, promovendo o bem-estar e a
qualidade de vida. . Este estudo pretende, numa perspectiva fenomenológica, analisar
a percepção que utentes idosos de SAD do concelho da Covilhã possuem acerca dos
serviços que lhes são prestados. O instrumento de recolha de dados utilizado foi a entrevista semi-estruturada, com questões sobre o SAD, factores de solicitação, caracterização dos serviços e técnicos, horários/tempo disponibilizado, e grau de satisfação. Participaram no estudo 7 indivíduos idosos do concelho da Covilhã que
usufruem de SAD.
Os resultados da investigação indicam que os idosos recorrem ao SAD, sobretudo, para satisfação de necessidades básicas diárias devidas à falta de ajudas informais.
Quanto aos funcionários, os utentes consideram que podem ser vários, devem possuir formação e ter mais tempo para conviver com os utentes. Em termos gerais,
demonstram um bom grau de satisfação com o SAD. Os resultados sugerem ainda que, no Concelho da Covilhã, o SAD deve procurar proporcionar momentos de diálogo e atenção para com os utentes além da prestação das tarefas requeridas.
Given the present state of the population ageing and the growing demand of structures to support dependency and life quality at old age, this study has its focus on a service of great demand: Home Support Service (HSS). This service consists in giving the users the help they need at home, promoting well-being and quality of life. This study aims at, from a phenomenological point of view, analyzing the perception that the elderly users of HSS in the area of Covilhã have of the services that are presented to them. The tool used to gather data was the interview, with questions about HSS, the reasons for applying to the service, characterization of the services and the technicians, schedules, availability of time and the satisfaction rate. Seven old people from the region of Covilhã that are presently using HSS have participated in this study. The results of the investigation have made it clear that old people address the HSS mainly to meet the needs of their daily basics, because they have no other kind of help. As for the staff, users consider there should be more of them, they should have the right qualifications and they should have more time to socialize with the users of the service. Generally, they are quite pleased with the HSS. The results also point out to the need that, in the region of Covilhã, HSS, besides other tasks that are required, should consider the need to establish more dialogue with the users of this service and give them more attention.
