Abstract(s)
This paper intends to uncover the causes that have provoked the adaptation of Hellenisms ending in -Ða in a double solution in Spanish: -ía e -ia. The same double solution appears in Portuguese, however in a lot of cases it’s the reverse. The didactic of both languages must pay attention to this matter so that the apprendices of the two languages take on di erent cases. The date of entry into the language, the pressure of the educated language and the criteria of scientific Latin all impact on the future of Spanish and Portuguese Hellenisms.
