Abstract(s)
Atualmente verifica-se uma crescente preocupação a nível ambiental, bem como com a preservação do património. Consequentemente, a resposta cada vez mais utilizada para solucionar estes problemas é a reabilitação. A reabilitação é uma atitude muito completa e responsável, no sentido em que permite a preservação da história, da cultura e da arquitetura, evitando a cedência de muitos imóveis à ruína e ao abandono. Soma-se ainda a possibilidade de controlar a construção excessiva de novos edifícios e a expansão das cidades sem abandono dos centros históricos, bem como reduzir o uso de matérias-primas e recursos naturais não renováveis, diminuindo deste modo a poluição. Seguindo esta ideia, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo uma proposta de reabilitação para a antiga Sede do Orfeão de Viseu. Este edifício destaca-se pela sua história, localização e tipologia, sendo de grande valor para a cidade em que se insere e para a sua população. Pretende-se deste modo elaborar uma proposta de reabilitação para este exemplo de património arquitetónico, atribuindo-lhe uma nova função, um Polo Cultural, com espaços multifuncionais e café-concerto. Deste modo existe a intenção de valorizar o edifício em destaque, bem como a sua história e contributos para a cidade de Viseu, evitando assim que o imóvel sofra uma crescente degradação, impossibilitando a sua recuperação.
There is now increasing environmental concern as well as heritage preservation. Consequently, the response increasingly used to solve these problems is rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is a very complete and responsible attitude in the sense that it preserves history, culture and architecture, avoiding the relinquishment of many properties to ruin and abandonment. There is also the possibility of controlling the excessive construction of new buildings and the expansion of cities without abandoning historic centers, as well as reducing the use of raw materials and non-renewable natural resources, thereby reducing pollution. Following this idea, the present work aims at a rehabilitation proposal for the former Orfeão de Viseu Headquarters. This building stands out for its history, location and typology, being of great value for the city in which it is inserted and for its population. In this way, it is intended to prepare a rehabilitation proposal for this example of architectural heritage, giving it a new function, a Cultural Pole, with multifunctional spaces and coffee-concert. In this way there is the intention to value the building in prominence, as well as its history and contributions to the city of Viseu, thus avoiding that the property under-goes a growing degradation, making impossible its recovery.
