Nos últimos anos, a produção científica sobre a utilização da Inteligência Artificial no jornalismo tem
aumentado substancialmente. A geração automática de texto é uma das temáticas mais habituais neste
campo, mas continuam a verificar-se divergências em relação aos media pioneiros nesta aplicação do
Processamento de Linguagem Natural (PLN), e muitas das referências identificadas pecam pela falta de
datas ou de fontes que permitam certificar a informação. Para além disso, os trabalhos anteriores sobre a
história da produção automática de texto jornalístico só identificam casos até 2018, ano após o qual
aumentou o número de media que usam a automatização de texto. Este trabalho surge com o objetivo
de contribuir para uma história da produção automática de texto jornalístico, procurando identificar as
suas primeiras utilizações em vários pontos do globo.
In recent years, the scientific production on the use of Artificial Intelligence in journalism has increased substantially. The automated production of text is one of the most common themes in this field, but there is still divergence regarding the pioneering media in this application of Natural Language Generation (NLG), and many of the references identified in the texts are not associated with a date or, often, a source. Finally, previous papers on the history of journalistic automated text production only identify cases up to 2018, a period that coincides with a growth in the number of media that have started to use automated text. This paper aims to contribute to a history of the automatic production of journalistic text, seeking to identify its first uses in various parts of the globe.
