dc.description.abstract	Esta dissertação de mestrado tem como base o estudo de um edifício abandonado existente na região Centro, mais precisamente em Sortelha, denominado de Termas de Águas Radium. Atualmente encontra-se em ruína, destacando-se na paisagem pela sua imponente construção em granito. Este lugar é encarado como um espaço importante na memória coletiva da população, que guarda tristeza e mágoa pelo desprezo a que o local e as ruínas estão submetidos atualmente, devido sobretudo a terem perdido a importância de outrora. O edifício em questão remonta o início do século XX. Através de uma análise sobre a reabilitação de edifícios considerados património, isto é, que contêm um grande potencial histórico, local e cultural, pretende-se demonstrar que estes não devem ser deixados cair no esquecimento e que o seu reaproveitamento é uma mais valia para a atratividade das regiões. Cada vez mais é essencial pensar nas preexistências e não apenas construir de raiz, e ao mesmo tempo repensar este tipo de espaços para a nossa atualidade, sem nunca criar perturbações ao que já existe. Assim, desenvolve-se uma proposta de um Hotel, criado a partir das ruínas das Termas Radium, que irá promover o desenvolvimento desta zona do Interior e do próprio turismo. O complexo procura as necessidades do turista de hoje, mantendo a memória do lugar.	por
dc.description.abstract	This dissertation is based on the study of an abandoned building existing in the Centre region, more precisely in Sortelha, called Termas de Águas Radium. It is currently in ruins, standing out in the landscape for its imposing granite construction. This place is seen as an important space in the collective memory of the population, which holds sadness and sorrow for the contempt to which the site and the ruins are currently subjected, mainly due to having lost the importance of before. The building in question dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. Through an analysis of the rehabilitation of buildings considered heritage, this is, those with great historical, local and cultural potential, it is intended to demonstrate that they should not be forgotten and that their reuse is an asset for the attractiveness of the regions. Increasingly, it is essential to think about pre-existences and not just build from scratch, and at the same time rethink this type of space for our present time, without ever creating disturbances to what already exists. Like this, a proposal is developed for a Hotel, created from the ruins of the Thermae Radium, which will promote the development of this area of the Interior and tourism itself. The complex seeks the needs of today's tourist, keeping the memory of the place.	eng
